Raise your hand if you knew Brooklyn had its very own Bulgarian women’s choir. The three-year-old group, YASNA VOICES, is led by VLADA TOMOVA. An a cappella ensemble, Yasna Voices has been seen in our borough at BAMcafe, BRIC Studios and the Brooklyn Public Library, and they’ve received a generous grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council.

You’ll have to travel to Manhattan to see their next performance, however. On Nov. 18 at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side, Yasna Voices takes center stage along with vocalist KREMENA STANCHEVA of the 50-year-old choir Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares. “Yasna,” we are told, translates as “clear.”
