Dreaming of Jacque Torres? Maybe it’s just the effect of the new BROOKLYN EATS logo. This inventive, chocolate-dripped insignia was created by The Mardiney Group, a Downtown Brooklyn-based design studio headed by Megan Mardiney and Rob Garguilo.
Now in its 10th year, this year’s Brooklyn Eats will feature over 55 participants, including Kings County all stars like Cake Man Raven, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, River Café, Sweet Melissa Patisserie and Brooklyn Brewery. Held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, the unlimited food, wine and beer tasting kicks off tonight at 6:30 and is sponsored by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. General admission tickets are available at the door for $95.
“Brooklyn is now rightfully known as an incredible place to find great food and great restaurants, and all of us at the Brooklyn Chamber are proud of the role Brooklyn Eats has played in raising the industry’s profile and expanding the restaurant sector of our borough’s economy,” said Kenneth Adams, president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
Veronica Maldonado, Jude Nwabuoku and Rhonda Rondon are this year’s scholarship winners from the hospitality management program at Downtown’s New York City College of Technology. As is tradition, they will unveil a new recipe they have developed specifically for the event.
