Congratulations to JOHANA I. RIVERA, who is the new registrar at the City College of New York (CCNY). A Brooklyn resident, Rivera comes to CCNY after 16 years of service in the registrar’s office at Brooklyn College. Celia Lloyd, the assistant vice president for enrollment management at CCNY, praised Rivera’s knowledge and leadership skills. Rivera holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brooklyn College.
And cheers to RACHEL NEWMAN, one of five finalists in a singer/songwriter contest sponsored by Hilton Hotels. Should Newman win, the Brooklynite will receive a meeting with an Atlantic Records executive and will get to meet and introduce pop star James Blunt at a concert in November. The winner will be announced Oct. 27.
