Looking ahead, Long Island College Hospital (LICH) hosts its annual BREAST HEALTH AWARENESS luncheon on Friday, Oct. 27. Held at the Palm House at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the luncheon will honor New York Times health columnist (and Brooklynite) JANE E. BRODY and ANTONIO E. ALFONSO, M.D., chairman of the department of surgery at LICH.
Breast health advocate Birthe McGlynn will be the keynote speaker, and Christine Brandle Dugan and Elizabeth O’Connell will co-chair the event, which supports continuing education on healthful living practices and cancer screening to the LICH community and the greater Brooklyn area.
