Howe’s Brooklyn: 17th Annual Spirit of Life Celebration

Brooklynites reach into their pockets year round to give back to the institutions they cherish. Celebrating tonight at the 17th ANNUAL SPIRIT OF LIFE CELEBRATION at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge will be Kendall Christiansen, chairman of the board of directors of the New York Congregational Home for the Aged Foundation. A public relations executive, Christiansen, president Celia C. Zuckerman and the rest of the Foundation will honor Jeffrey S. Cohen of First Albany Capital and Peter J. Dawson of HSBC Bank USA.

On Oct. 25, three prominent Brooklyn people will be part of the 30th celebration of the New York Transit Museum, stationed on Livingston Street in the Heights. Ken Fisher, Stuart Leffler and Jed Walentas are all Friends of the Museum’s Board of Trustees. The benefit will begin at the Museum’s gallery annex at Grand Central Terminal.
