NYU’s Distinguished Writer-In-Residence and Red Hook native JAMES MCBRIDE will travel to Clinton Hill on Thursday, October 19, to be the featured speaker at St. Joseph’s College’s annual Founders Day event. The free lecture will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Brooklyn College.
McBride is the author of The Color of Water: A Black Man’s Tribute to His White Mother, his acclaimed 1996 memoir that spent over two years at the top of the New York Times Bestseller List and has since been translated into 16 languages. He is also an award-winning jazz musician who has written songs for Anita Baker and performed with Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson.
